How buying on SA Fashion Mall works
The full journey from finding a piece you love to receiving it at your door — with escrow protection every step of the way.
SA Fashion Mall is a curated marketplace of verified South African designers, tailors and textile mills. Every rand you pay is held in escrow by the platform until you confirm the item has arrived — so you never send money directly to a seller and hope for the best.
1. Browse the mall
Explore departments (Men, Women, Unisex & Streetwear, Textile Mills) or jump straight into a designer's storefront. Every seller listed has been through CIPC + KYC verification with an on-video studio walkthrough. If you see the gold verified badge, we've met the team behind it.
2. Place an order
Add pieces to your bag and check out. You'll pay through our secure checkout (supports card, EFT, Instant EFT, Zapper, SnapScan, Mobicred). Your delivery address and phone number are used only for that order.
3. Escrow holds the money
The moment your payment is confirmed, we split it into an escrow ledger row (visible to the seller as 'incoming') and notify the seller to start work / dispatch. The seller cannot withdraw a single rand until you have the item and confirm delivery.
4. Fulfilment & tracking
Sellers upload a tracking number and courier the moment the parcel leaves their studio. You'll get a notification and can see the tracking on your order page. Local shipping fees vary by seller and are quoted upfront; national shipping is separate and also seller-quoted.
5. Confirm delivery → release funds
Once the item arrives, open the order and hit 'Confirm delivery'. That single action releases the escrowed funds to the seller (minus the platform's 15% commission on product price — sellers keep 100% of the shipping fee).
6. Optional: leave a review
After a custom-order commission completes, you can leave a rating + note that lives on the tailor's public profile forever. Reviews come from verified custom orders only — no fabricated stars.
