Shipping fees explained (local vs national)

SA Fashion Mall does not centralise shipping. Every seller runs their own logistics using their own courier account, and they set two per-listing shipping fees: LOCAL (within their province) and NATIONAL (elsewhere in SA). This is why the same piece can carry different fees from different sellers.

How the two fees work

• Local fee — applies when the seller and buyer are in the same province. Usually R70–R100 for a garment; R100–R150 for a fabric roll.
• National fee — applies when they're in different provinces. Usually R120–R180 for a garment; R150–R250 for a heavier or bulkier parcel.
• The right fee is selected automatically in the cart based on your delivery address province.

Why prices vary

• Courier account discounts — larger sellers have negotiated better rates.
• Distance — Cape Town → Cape Town is cheaper than Cape Town → Polokwane.
• Parcel weight — a linen dress ships cheaper than a 20m roll of denim.
• Insurance & signature-on-delivery add-ons — some sellers include these by default; premium sellers may add a small margin for it.

Multiple sellers, one checkout

If you buy from two sellers in one cart, you pay each seller's shipping fee separately. There is no combined 'basket' fee — the cart shows each shipping line so you can see what you're paying.
