Understanding fees & payouts

Exactly how much SA Fashion Mall takes, when you get paid, and how the escrow release works.

The platform commission

SA Fashion Mall charges 15% on the product price only. On a R1,000 garment sale, R150 goes to the platform and R850 goes to you. You keep 100% of the shipping fee, which is separate and set by you per listing (local + national).

Custom orders (commissions)

Same 15% on the quote value. A R2,000 commission = R300 platform, R1,700 to you.
You can attach an optional materials advance of 0–40% on the quote — released to you when the customer pays, so you can buy fabric and start work.
The remainder releases when the customer confirms delivery. Example: 40% advance on R2,000 = R800 released at work start + R900 on delivery.

When you actually get paid

T + 0 — Customer pays via our secure checkout. Funds land in escrow. You see a 'pending' entry on your dashboard.
T + 0..N — You ship. Escrow status stays 'held'.
T + delivered — Customer taps 'Confirm delivery'. Escrow flips to 'released' and your pending balance updates.
T + delivered + 5 business days — SA Fashion Mall pays out to your registered SA bank account.

Payouts are batched weekly on Fridays. A confirmation email goes to your business email address with the amount, order numbers, and reference.

What we don't charge for

Listing products (unlimited).
Portfolio uploads.
Custom-order quotes (no cost to send).
Cancelled orders (customer cancels pre-payment — no fee).
